    What to include on an invoice

    A clear invoice names the seller and the buyer, carries a unique invoice number and issue date, lists each product or service with quantity and price, shows any tax, and states the total due, the due date and how to pay. Add a reference or purchase-order number if your client uses one.

    Send invoices as soon as the work is done, set a specific due date, and put payment instructions directly on the document. Short, plain descriptions of each line item help clients approve quickly.

    Every ISO 4217 currency the browser knows, with correct decimal places (for example, none for JPY).

    Is this invoice legally compliant in my country?

    Rules differ by country. The tool does not verify compliance, so confirm the required fields with your local tax authority or an accountant.
