What Net 30 means
Net 30 means payment is due 30 days after the invoice date. Net 7 and Net 14 are common for small jobs and freelancers; 30 to 60 days is common with larger companies.
Ask for a deposit on larger jobs
A deposit or milestone payments reduce your risk. Show them as separate lines or use the Paid field so the balance due is clear.
State late-payment terms
If you charge interest or a fixed fee for late payment, say so before work starts and repeat it on the invoice. Some countries regulate this, for example France requires late-payment penalties and a fixed recovery indemnity for professional customers to be stated on invoices.
Make paying easy
Put bank details or your payment instructions in the payment section and the due date near the total.
